NOAH LARAMORE

As a kid I loved comics and cartoons. Within these books/ shows were magical and fantastic worlds with realities far different from my own. They were filled with people who had altruistic morals and wanted to do good. Worlds where the bad guy actually lost. I found an escape from reality within those stories. It took me years to realize that’s what I wanted to do for others. Stories have had a profound effect on me and I think that’s a gift that should be shared. At the heart of all the art I create is the idea of storytelling. What can I communicate with a character or even a single line. My focus is on telling stories about Blackness, justice, boyhood, morality, and relationships. My hope is that when others see my art they can connect with it on an emotional level and that the stories presented are more than just visually appealing. While I want all to be able to take something away from my art I want to be directly in conversation with other Black People, and specifically Black boys. I want to create worlds where they are seen as beautiful, good, and innocent. As a Black person who lives in a world where my existence is demonized I seek to create media where Blackness is uplifted, sought after, and loved. I employ storytelling through the mediums of animation, graphic design, and graphic illustration. I’m actively seeking career work in the fields of graphic design, digital media, creative advertising, and Animation (concept development and character design).
