NANA AMPOFO
My name is Nana Ampofo. I’m originally from Los Angeles, California. My work as an artist is focused on using art to promote social justice and change. I am particularly interested in the experiences of incarcerated people and how their work can be used to educate and engage the public.
I believe that museums have the potential to be powerful tools for social change. They can provide a platform for marginalized voices to be heard and can help to break down societal myths and prejudices. I am committed to using my skills and knowledge to help museums achieve this potential.
My current research focuses on how museums can better support incarcerated artists and use their work to educate the public about the criminal justice system and mass incarceration. I am also developing new museum programs that engage and educate the public about these issues.
