LEO-MILAN LEON MARTINEZ

My name is Milan Leon and I am a mixed media artist biased in Chicago. My work often serves to unearth and reinvent found antique photos, giving one last spotlight to lost memories. I’m frustrated by the amount of beautiful memories in my life that have faded due to the passage of time. My art rebels against that decay by creating a physical landmark.

I specialize in watercolor portraits, multi-dimensional collage and instillations made from my previous illustrations. My work in graphite and watercolor has its roots in the impressionist movement. The color, motion and (most importantly) light captured by the old masters decorate my daydreams and become the background to all the music I make.

Nothing makes me more at peace than creating art, music, friends and community. So that is what I have dedicated my life to do. I hope you enjoy and find some peace in my joy
