JAMIE LAUDERBAUGH

As a multi-disciplinary artist based in the city of Chicago, my artistic journey includes photography, filmmaking, and collage, all united by a deep passion for storytelling. I am irresistibly drawn to narratives, whether they are from books, movies, to short stories, and poetry. This lifelong fascination with storytelling has become the heart of my creative expression. My photography often mirrors the timeless allure of film stills, capturing moments in time that possess both narrative intrigue and cinematic sensibility, by employing techniques reminiscent of classic cinema, such as high-contrast lighting and shadows.  One of my distinctive approaches involves the invention of characters who come to life through my lens. Each character is a vessel for stories untold; a persona brought into existence for the sole purpose of being captured and shared with the world. The result is a gallery of enigmatic figures and moments that invite viewers to step into the realm of my imagination. My body of work is marked by an appreciation for the mysterious, the unconventional, and the eerie. I aim to explore the darker corners of the human experience, creating visuals that invite the viewers to confront the unknown and question the boundaries of reality and fiction.
